Anthony Jason Widener

Anthony Jason Widener, 41, of Damascus, Virginia passed away on Thursday, April 20, 2017 at Johnston Memorial Hospital in Abingdon, Virginia. He was a graduate of Holston High School in Damascus, Virginia and served in the United States Marine Corp. He was predeceased in death by his grandparents Charles Alfred and Mary Sue Widener, his brother D. R. Schuler, and his father-in-law, Dr. James Thomas Luck. Jason is survived by his loving wife Lisa Luck Widener, their children Anthony Thomas, Jacob Brice, Nathan Alexander “Alex”, and Savannah Marie Widener, his mother Jackie Schuler and step-father Dennis Schuler of Chilhowie, Virginia, sister Emily Schuler, and special cousins Joy Trent and Susie Trent. He is also survived by his mother-in-law Rosalie Luck, brothers-in-law Tommy Luck and Beau Luck, his wife Jessica Luck, sister-in-law Lara Luck, and three nephews and six nieces. Jason worked at Utility Trailer Manufacturing in Glade Spring, Virginia. He was a loving and caring husband, father, and friend and will be greatly missed. The family will receive friends from 2:00 pm until 4:00 pm Sunday, April 23, 2017 at Garrett Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 4:00 pm Sunday, April 23, 2017, in the Riverview Chapel at Garrett Funeral Home with Pastor Greg Alderman officiating. The committal service and interment will be at 11:00 am Monday, April 24, 2017 at Sunset Memorial Park in Damascus, VA. Pallbearers will be his three sons, Anthony, Jacob, and Alex, Beau Luck, Ray Hart, Johnny Widener, Troy Mullins, Jackie Thurston, and Eddie Blevins. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Damascus Volunteer Fire Department.
